A Piece of Utah Pioneer History

Reese Llewelyn’s original 1878 pioneer farmhouse is the source of this flooring—the home of Fountain Green’s first mayor, lifted board by board and saved for a new chapter.

In 2023, the flooring was carefully lifted from the Llewelyn family’s historic home, revealing a treasure trove of pioneer craftsmanship. We kept the cameras rolling throughout the project, capturing photos and video clips that show exactly how the boards came up and what we found beneath.

One unforgettable discovery: a tiny, leather pioneer child’s boot, sealed beneath the floorboards for 145 years. The find underscores the authenticity and human story embedded in this lumber—more than a floor, it’s a time capsule of Utah’s settlement era.
