In the living room, we added beadboard to all the walls and prepped it for painting. Every little detail is bringing us closer to making this 1878 home our own. It’s week 4 of our 1878 farmhouse renovation, and we’ve made huge strides! The living room and hallway now have new subflooring, we’ve purchased more cabinets, and all three bathrooms are tiled and ready for the next steps. Plus, an unexpected visit from a former resident—an ancestor of Reese Llewellyn, who built this home—gave us a fascinating glimpse into the history of this historic property. Our renovation journey continues as we make big strides inside our 1878 farmhouse! This week, we rearranged the kitchen cabinets to create a more functional layout, tore out old flooring to prepare for the next phase, and wrapped up a major milestone—replacing outdated polybutylene pipes with brand-new PEX plumbing.
